Although a conglomeration of several metal styles and influences, This Faustian Flesh remains throughout a dark and moody album. A concept album of sorts, the seven tracks presented here are individual movements of a single composition that is loosely based on Christopher Marlowe's "Doctor Faustus". Crisp guitar leads combine with grisly riffs to lend a distinct Black metal feel, while the clean vocals drive home the mood of despair.
