Formed in 2001 by mainman and guitar virtuoso Ken Orth, Wycked Synn is a band firmly rooted in the heydey of melodic metal when bands like Dokken, Cinderella, and Ratt ruled the airwaves. Thier music sounds as if it was recorded in 1986, albeit with slight modern power metal elements scattered throughout. For the debut album, The Vision, Orth laid down the tracks for all the instruments. Gary Grant tracked the vocals after the fact, with the rest of the band not being recruited until after the album was complete. Fans of the abovementioned bands and others of the genre looking for something new but true to the style will find much to like about The Vision.
