Melbourne, the home to such progressive metal bands as Black Majesty, Vanishing Point, and Eye Fear, can also claim to be the home of young proggers WithoutEnd. Formed in 2001 by singer/drummer Nick Georgakopoulos and guitarist Michael Totta, the band released their debut album in 2004. Produced by acclaimed jazz-fusion guitarist Endel Rivers, WithoutEnd is a fine contribution to the genre. Taking on a darker atmosphere than is perhaps the norm, WithoutEnd create abstract melodies that are as listenable as they are complex.
