Heorot

Flag of Finland
  Origin: Finland
  This page updated 11.25.06

Founded by frontman Modsognir and drummer Mikko Mokelainen in 2002, Heorot is a Viking/folk metal band that is bound to catch the attention of the metal world for their exquisite folk melodies. Somewhat similar in style to Einherjer and Falkenbach, Heorot combines harsh and clean vocals with traditional instrumentation and otherworldly keyboard passages to create a sound that is catchy and highly enjoyable. A recommended newcomer to the genre, tragedy struck Heorot in January 2006 with Modsognir's death. Guitarist Timo Nokelainen stepped to the microphone, and the band vows to continue.
