The story of Celtic Legacy is a story of loyalty, determination, and perseverence. Originally formed in 1997 by guitarist Dave Morrisey and bass player Dave Boylan, the band released a self-titled, self-financed album of Thin Lizzy-inspired hard rock in 1998 (the band members are devoted Phil Lynott fans). Their release garnered little attention in Ireland or abroad, so the band essentially called it a day in 2001. A fan in Germany was determined not to let the music of Celtic Legacy fade forever, so he personally began a fundraising campaign which ultimately led to the band reforming and releasing their second self-financed album Resurrection. Still AOR influenced, the new ablum is a powerful blend of melodic metal and subtle Celtic elements that will certainly appeal to fans of music by those such as Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, and Gary Moore.
