Originally formed in 1987, smack in the middle of the Golden Age of metal, Byfist carries on the 80's metal tradition with unwavering faithfullness. After two years and as many demos, the band dissolved (with guitarists Davey Lee and Notch Vara joining David Wayne's Reverand) but returned with the Adrenalin EP in 2000. This four-tracker oozes the signature 80's sound in the vein of Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, and Metal Church. The band experienced some line-up changes after the release of the EP, with singer Vikk Real and bassist Rey Gone departing. The current line-up is said to be entering the studio to record they're debut full-length. Packed with soaring falsetto vocals, prominant bass lines, and an all-out twin-guitar attack, Byfist will appeal to all metal purists.
