The number of Goth Metal/Rock bands coming out of Finland over the past few years has been increasing considerably, with Beseech, Amorphis, and Lullacry among the most well-known. Before The Dawn displays many similarities to the aforementioned acts but performs well enough to warrant success in their own right. A distinctive feature of the band is the alternating "dark" vocals of founder Tuomas Saukkonen and the clean delivery of Panu Willman, former frontman of fellow Finnish Goth metallers Entwine. My Darkness, the band's debut full-length, is certainly entrenched in the more metallic side of the Goth genre. Fans who like their metal heavy and dark will do well to investigate Before The Dawn
