Anthenora, who take their name from Dante's "Inferno", are a traditional heavy metal band in the vein of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Saxon. Formed in 1989, the band gained some early success for their live gigging but experienced some hard times during the late-90's alterna-pop trend. Heavily influenced by the aforementioned bands, Anthenora actually became an Iron Maiden tribute band during this period. Still having a desire to create their own original songs, they released The General's Awakening EP which ultimately led to a deal with Locomotive Music for their debut full-length The Last Command.
