Altar of Oblivion is a relatively new doom band from Denmark that was founded in 2005 by members of Victimizer and Church Bizarre. Their music is placed firmly in the '80s Doom tradition of bands such as Candlemass and Cathedral, though Altar of Oblivion steers clear of the dirge-like processional that is normally associated with the genre. Vocals are clear and deep, though not overpowering.
