Sixty Miles Down is a modern rock band out of New Jersey that compares to such commercial mainstays as Godsmack, Creed, and Stabbing Westward. While drawing heavily on those influences, the band nonetheless sets themselves apart with superior songcrafting and creativity. Vocalist and founder John Mosco has a voice similar to that of Layne Staley (Alice In Chains), lending a dark and ofttimes bleak mood to the music.
Forming in 1998 and releasing a demo in 2000, several members of the band shared time in fellow New Jersey band Anger of the Lamb, which ultimately led Mosco to break up Sixty Miles Down only a couple of months after the release of Sink Or Swim. John kept the dream alive, and in May of 2003 he reformed the band and in 2006 released a follow-up to the debut album.
